Real-Time Cross-Nation Concert|9 March 2025 @C-LAB

ISMT NTNU x CCRMA Stanford x TSL C-Lab
This concert brings together an ensemble that performs in real time through the Internet, made possible by JackTrip, a near-zero-latency audio transmission software. Sixteen musicians from Taipei and California join forces—four music students from National Taiwan Normal University and twelve from Stanford University.
Across the ocean, transmitted signals allow computers to monitor the physical state of the sea and provide this data to the musicians as their “score.” This process is known as sonification.
The repertoire for this performance draws on diverse large-scale datasets—not only ocean monitoring data, but also beer fermentation data, urban population shifts, brainwave activity, and climate change projections.
